Traveling From Atlanta, GA, to San Pedro, Belize
Did you know that you can currently purchase direct flights from Atlanta (ATL) to Belize City (BZE) with Delta Airlines? It doesn’t get more convenient than that! The flying distance from Atlanta is about 1000 miles, and the flying time is only a little over three hours.
You can also purchase flights from Atlanta with American Airlines, United Airlines, and Southwest Airlines. Ticket prices and travel times will vary depending on what the layover is.
Head From Belize City to San Pedro
After leaving the United States and arriving in Belize City, you’ll have to travel to San Pedro/Ambergris Caye. You have two different transportation options to choose from—hopper flights and water taxi rides.
The most convenient way to travel to San Pedro is by flying. You can book hopper flights daily with Maya Island Air and Tropic Air. These flights are less than 15 minutes long and offer one-of-a-kind bird’s eye views of the ocean and Belize. After arriving at the San Pedro Airport, you can grab a cab (there are usually some waiting at the airport) and head to Mahogany Bay Resort, and you’ll be there in less than 15 minutes.
If you don’t want to take one of the flights, you can get to San Pedro by water taxi. From the Belize City airport, you’ll take a cab to the water taxi terminal and purchase a ticket for one of the many daily trips offered. The San Pedro Belize Express is the most popular option because of its frequent trips and larger boats. The Ocean Ferry also offers trips on their smaller boats. The water taxi option is cheaper than flying, but it’s important to keep in mind that it has a much longer travel time.
