Belize is known for its warm, tropical climate, and the temperatures are consistently warm throughout the year, averaging around the mid-80s. Due to the consistent temperatures year-round, Belize has two rather than four seasons—the dry and rainy season. The dry season runs from December to May, making April an ideal month to vacation here. Plus, the water temperature is consistent year-round, averaging at 72 degrees. Exciting Local Events 

Since Belize is a majorly Christian country, the locals don’t mess around when it comes to celebrating Easter. From Good Friday until Easter Sunday, you’ll find an array of exciting events, from street festivals to religious ceremonies to lively beach parties. Each year on Holy Saturday, the day before Easter, The Cross-Country Cycling Classic attracts hundreds of riders from around the country and Central America. The bike race begins in Belize City and follows a loop up through San Ignacio in Cayo District. 

Catch Sight of the Ocean’s Gentle Giants

Year after year, between March and June, massive schools of migrating whale sharks visit the waters of Belize. When they rise to the surface to feed on fish spawn and plankton, humans get the rare opportunity to gaze at these magnificent creatures. Whale sharks are protected by Belizean conservation laws, and divers who want to dive with whale sharks must use a licensed tour operator.
